Who we are
Our website address is: https://crackedkitchenwindow.com.
This website is operated by [Carl Homolka]. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal data, you can contact us at: [email protected]].
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect personal data to improve your experience on our website, respond to inquiries, and maintain the functionality and security of the site.
The types of data we may collect include:
- Personal information (such as name and email address when leaving comments or contacting us)
- Technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and device information)
- Usage data (such as pages visited and interaction with content)
We collect this data for purposes including:
- Enabling user interaction (comments, contact forms, and recipe features)
- Improving website performance and content
- Preventing spam and maintaining security
- Complying with legal obligations
Bootstrapped Ventures, the developer of the WP Recipe Maker plugin, does not have access to any of the data collected by the plugin. All data is stored locally in our website database and is not communicated to them.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
This site uses Titan Security to reduce spam in comments.
When someone submits a comment, we may process the following data to detect spam:
- Comment content and submission metadata for spam detection checks
- Temporary anti-spam form fields used to distinguish human visitors from automated bots
- Comments identified as spam may be stored in the spam queue for moderation and review
If Advanced Spam Filter is enabled, comment content, author name, author email, author IP address, and submission time may be sent to Titan cloud services for machine-learning spam analysis.
When recipe ratings are enabled, we store the rating a user has given to a recipe along with the personal data WordPress core stores.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.
Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We use the Smush plugin to optimize images for web performance. Images uploaded to the site may be sent to WPMU DEV servers for optimization. This may include EXIF data, which is either stripped or returned as-is and is not stored on those servers.
Contact forms
If you contact us through a form on the website, we may collect your name, email address, and message content.
We retain contact form submissions for customer service purposes only and do not use this information for marketing unless explicit consent is provided.
If recipe submission features are enabled, users may voluntarily submit personal data such as name and email address depending on the form fields. If reCAPTCHA is used, submissions are subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
When recipe ratings are enabled, we store a cookie named WPRM_User_Voted_%recipe% (where %recipe% is the recipe ID). This cookie contains the rating you gave and is used to help prevent rating spam. These cookies are stored for 30 days.
IP Address
When recipe ratings are enabled, we store the IP address associated with a vote. This is used as one of the measures to prevent rating spam.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.).
Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content, especially if you are logged into those services.
Analytics
We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our website. These tools may collect anonymous information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and referral sources.
We also use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) provided by Stackpath through the Smush plugin. Stackpath may collect web log data including IP address, browser type, referrer, location, and ISP information for performance and security purposes. This data may be stored for up to 7 days. Files and images may be served from servers located in different countries.
You can typically opt out of analytics tracking through your browser settings or by using privacy-focused browser extensions.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell or trade your personal data.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We may share data with trusted third-party service providers (such as spam detection services, CDN providers, and hosting services) strictly for the purpose of operating and maintaining the website.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except usernames). Website administrators can also access and edit that information.
Contact form submissions may be retained for up to 6 months.
Recipe-related user data (such as ratings or submissions) is stored indefinitely in the local database unless manually removed.
Cookies related to recipe ratings are stored for 30 days.
CDN-related log data may be retained for up to 7 days.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request:
- An exported file of the personal data we hold about you

This does not include any data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
